MxPx

MxPx

MxPx know a thing or a two about longevity and consistency. They've been a band for nearly two decades and have released seven full-length albums, a covers collection, four EPs, three compilations and one live album. In 2009, the Washington state trio – bassist/lead vocalist Mike Herrera, guitarist Tom Wisniewski and drummer Yuri Ruley – have elected to create another covers album, this time, a mostly 1980s-centric On The Cover II, which comes nearly fifteen years after On The Cover via Tooth & Nail Records.

Wisniewski says, "Our fans have been asking us to do another cover record for almost a decade now. We've always put it on the backburner but we finally just decided that it'd be a fun thing to do." On The Cover II, which was mostly recorded in Herrera's new Monkey Trench Studios, buoys with the energy, fevered pacing and melodic sensibilities that MxPx have built their rock solid reputation upon since forming in 1992.

Leave it to MxPx to turn everything they do into a lively event. The band wants the fans to enjoy this new batch of covers, but as Wisniewski says, "We will be back in the studio really soon to bang out a new record of MxPx songs!" They have also just released a live DVD called Triple Threat, which features three different live shows and is available now through mxpx.com as well as Interpunk.com.

My Passion

My Passion

MY PASSION are four young men with a fearless, rebellious intention, DIY ethics and a genre-smashing electronic induced metallic punk sound. Two years since their creation and My Passion's world has consisted of endless touring and self promotion.

The story started in the unlikely leafy Herts suburbs of London back in 2006, the band gained adoration in pockets of the UK and word quickly spread as they took their energetic show on the road racking up 400 shows at the last count! My Passion online via their Myspace page run by the band themselves with over 64,000 friends and plays spiraling above a million.

My Passion decided to pursue world domination on their own terms with the launch of their label, 'Style Suicide Records'. Several successful releases followed. Tomorrow Girls, recorded with Mark Williams (Enter Shikari, The Killers) sold out of its limited 2000 pressing within the first few months of touring. The band then met John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Funeral For a Friend) at one of their headline shows having traveled half way across the country to see the band. My Passion hooked up with John for their summer single and they went on to record their debut album at Outhouse studio last autumn. In their hideout in Reading John & the band worked for a month capturing a collection of killer tracks entitled "Corporate Flesh Party" which will be released to the world May 2009.

Not content with playing the hundreds of live dates in the past two years, they also launched their own club night "Style Suicide Club", a magnet for the disaffected youth and suburban misfits. It was NME’s Club of the week after just one outing. My Passion most recently completed a 36 date tour of Europe. My Passion are flying, with an unstoppable horde of fans that have just propelled the band to a top 3 spot in the Kerrang best of 2008 Readers Poll and a Number one spot in Rocksound magazine!

Floors & Walls

floors and walls

A melting pot of hard rock, MCing, melodic guitars and soulful, yet hard hitting lyrics, Floors and Walls are on the cutting edge of a new sound rising from the streets of Brighton.

"It’s a brave band who dare combine sovereign-ring wearing, Carling-downing English urbanism with such funky riffs and weighty grooves. A highly original collision of disparate styles which given time to mature, could be genuinely exciting. Irritatingly good fun." KKK! - Kerrang!

Suzerain

Suzerain

As a live band Suzerain are hard to beat. Having blasted through the majority of the London circuit Suzerain has earned themselves a fearsome live reputation and an incredible fan base in London and the surrounding counties. Their incendiary performances at London’s top venues and a heart stopping set at the O2 Wireless festival in 06 launching a well received 5 track EP on independent label Jezus Factory (entitled appropriately enough: Apocalypse Disco), and refining their sound which takes all the addictive elements of new wave pop with rock and dance added for good measure.

Suzerain won Best Alternative Act at The INDY Awards in 2007, and are signed to Jezus Factory Records with their new EP Apocalypse Disco available on iTunes. The band is currently finishing their debut album with producer Steve Lyon (the Cure, Depeche Mode).

CKY

CKY

The roots of the relationships that bring you the present-day CKY date back to late 1992. 14-year-old drummer Jess Margera, where he meets 16-year-old guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller. By 1995, they were writing songs under the band name Foreign Objects. They released a five-song EP, The Undiscovered Numbers & Colors. In the spring of 1996, the two recorded a more simple, radio-friendly form of music under the name Oil. They performed several shows in Summer 1996 and released a four-track EP cassette titled Lifeline.

In November 1997, when they started recording their first official album (which would later become CKY's Volume 1). It was during these recording sessions where they met engineer/producer Chad Ginsburg. Chad was attracted to Oil's song "Disengage the Simulator", and was asked to join the band as a second guitarist. This addition is the true beginning of CKY.

By 1998, with a concrete writing core of Chad Ginsburg, Jess Margera, and Deron Miller, and their live bassist Ryan Bruni, Oil dissolved. Sitting around a pizza place in West Chester, Deron came up with Camp Kill Yourself as the new band name. The album, titled Volume 1, was released on February 27, 1999. In1999 Camp Kill Yourself was signed to Volcom Records, and they requested they change their name to Camp, and the album name to CKY. The album was re-released in April with the changes, but the band was not happy with Camp for a band name, and decided to reverse the titles. CKY was now their permanent band name. In October 2000, CKY's music appeared on the hit MTV show "Jackass", generating a flood of new fans. The show also featured band members themselves on certain episodes.

By May 2001, the band signed with Island Records, and in September 24, 2002, their long-awaited second album, Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild, was finally released. While they were on the road, CKY's first ever vinyl release, a 7" two-song compilation titled Hellview, was published by Island Records on March 18th.

On June 28th, 2005, the band re-emerged with "An Answer Can Be Found"- their third major release and most ambitious to date. Debuting at #35 on the Billboard Top 100, the band made their second television appearance at the end of 2005 on the Carson Daly show, performing Suddenly Tragic and Tripled Manic state off of An Answer Can Be Found.

As the band entered 2006, things finally came to a head between CKY and Island Records. Carver City is CKY's first album of new material since 2005’s An Answer Can Be Found, and the band’s first studio offering since its split from Island Records in 2006. "Having a studio at my house, gave me the ability to work on Carver City for literally several thousand hours, for two years straight," Ginsburg says. "We added a ton of new textures. Layering has always been something we’ve been into; guitar textures alone tend to bore us, Carver City is sonically, our best effort to date." Carver City is released under Road Runner Records.

Fei Comodo

Fei Comodo

Having spent the best part of 12 months gigging solidly up and down the UK alongside acts such as Parkway Drive, Enter Shikari, Devil Sold His Soul, Fightstar and InMe, FEI COMODO have become a firm favourite on the UK scene. Their hard work has paid off, securing them a nomination at this year’s Kerrang! Awards for Best British Newcomer.

The band are also preparing to embark on a mammoth tour of the UK, opting to stay off the beaten track and into those hard to reach places this time around.

Starseed

starseed

Starseed deliver the kind of onslaught that leaves punters moshing, cart-wheeling, screaming and dry-heaving with sheer excitement. In reality, it's some of the most satisfying melodic hard rock you're likely to hear; infused with soaring melodies and epic energy. Powerful, riff driven rock with electrifying stage shows. Their music grasps many elements of the post grunge scene drawing influences from early Pearl Jam to the power and torment found in hard stalwarts like Soil. The band release their 2nd Full Length Album "Peace Machine" at IndigO2 on Aug 7th.

The Crave

The Crave

The Crave are deadly serious about giving you a great time, with their uplifting, euphoric, infectious, out and out riff-tastic, hands in the air anthemic RAWK!

In 2007 they were touring the States, which saw them travelling across from San Francisco to New York on an 8 week tour, playing in Vegas, shooting a video with the people behind Harley Davidson in Milwaukee for their track, 'Bring It On', returning for another 8 week tour, and being the only unsigned band to play alongside legends Bruce Springsteen and the Foo Fighters.

They brought back their tracks they had perfected on the road and recorded their debut album back in Brighton with Mark Flannery (Def Leppard, U2 and Depeche Mode) . The Crave combine all the fantastic songwriting elements, infectious melodies, superb harmonies and huge choruses of their peers, but combine it in a very modern way to make it sound both thrilling and vibrant.

Telegraphs

Telegraphs

Telegraphs are Darcy Harrison, Hattie Williams, Sam Bacon, Darren LeWarne and Aung Yay. They formed in Brighton in 2006, and since then have been spreading their racket up and down the country, reaching all of its corners and even braving the sea. Last year, Telegraphs went up a mountain in Wales and recorded an album with producer Dave Eringa. This album is called ‘We Were Ghosts’, and it sounds like anxiety, loss, anger and dancing. It is out now.

"A plane crash that never hits the ground, this is a magnificent aural feast that you wish would never end"
KKKK - Kerrang

"Wish Britain's favourite seaside haunt delivering another ace indie-rock band with yet more heart-exploding, emotionally pumped choruses, we're more than ready to hit the beach. And Telegraphs will friggin burn you."
8/10 - NME

"... Elevating the Telegraphs sound from a well trained house pet to a beast furiously bashing around in a cage. An intelligent, feisty debut that lives up to all of the band's early promise."
8/10 - Rock Sound

"...combines ice and fire, burning from the inside with steely confidence and lyrical suss"
THE FLY

"...Telegraphs display both a rugged edge to their songwriting and a tenacity for absolute perfection."
